A lot of craps dealers love to gamble. Armed with the knowledge of dice probabilities, dice dealers like to take a chance and roll the bones. Along those lines, dice dealers--when dealing a live game--like to hypothesize and book phantom bets to "play along" with the players.
It's sort of like taking practice rolls to see if certain betting schemes will pan out. Of course, most of them don't, but a few are tempting.
If I have enough guts, I'm going to try one or two when I go to Vegas. Here's a couple:
How To Turn $50 Into $260 in Two Rolls
You heard me. Two rolls of the dice and that's it. How? Simple. Place a $50 place bet on FIVE. When Five rolls, it'll pay $70. Then move the original bet ($50) and the winnings ($70) to a $120 place bet on the SIX.
When six rolls, it pays $140. Take down the $120 place bet + $140 winnings and BAM! There's $260 from a single $50 bet.
Of course, as with any craps betting scheme, it's easier said than done.
Getting the two numbers you want to roll when you want them to roll is no simple task.
Chances are pretty strong you'll probably end up chasing it once or twice before you actually make it work.
If $50 is too steep, simply cut back the bet. You could start with a $5 FIVE, then move it to a $12 SIX. Once it hits, that's still a $21 profit off a minimal wager.
Of course, if you think you're mounting up for a hot roll, try this:
How to Turn $30 Into $1,000 in Five Rolls
Sounds crazy, right? It's not. Bet a $30 place bet on SIX and keep doubling it each time it hits. Every time six rolls, that $30 wins $35. It should go a little something like this:
1st SIX: $30 goes to $60, you pocket $5
2nd SIX: $60 goes to $120, you pocket $10
3rd SIX: $120 goes to $240, you pocket $20 (and now you've made back your original bet)
4th SIX: $240 goes to $480, you pocket $40
5th SIX: $480 wins $560...take the whole thing down.
If you have balls of steel and a hot roll, you will pocket $1115 in five rolls.
Again, depending on my nerves, I may try one or both of these...just for fun.
Because you never know.
